Preparation before the repair must be thorough. First, the defect location must be kept clean, ensuring the workpiece is conductive; secondly, the welding rod holder must be securely tightened to prevent affecting the transmission of ultrasonic vibration.

During the repair process, grip the welding gun handle like you're holding a pen. Find an anchor point on the workpiece to allow your wrist to manipulate the handle freely. Tilt the handle slightly to maintain a 45-degree angle and press down on the defect. It's here that your repair experience shines through; pause slightly when pressing down, lift the electrode when the tip starts to glow, but don't press too hard or you'll lack an arc. Also, don't press too lightly, or the electrode will melt insecurely and turn black.

When cladding or repairing a surface, it is crucial to do so in an orderly manner. For instance, when cladding a surface of 50-60 wires, start with a single point and then proceed sequentially, maintaining a straight line, before moving from the line to the surface. Remember not to repair in a "W" shape. This can lead to more sand holes in the subsequent finishing process and may result in lower bonding strength, causing potential detachment.
