This method ensures metallurgical bonding between the base metal and the welding material. Since argon gas is continuously supplied during the high-temperature melting welding process, it prevents the welding material from contacting with oxygen in the atmosphere, thus avoiding oxidation. Consequently, it is suitable for welding copper, aluminum, alloy steel, and other non-ferrous metals.

    1. Argon arc welding often results in defects such as deformation, reduced hardness, porosity, partial annealing, cracking, pinholes, color variation, undercutting, and internal stress damage due to excessive current and large heat-affected zones. This is particularly pronounced in the process of repairing minute defects in detailed forging.

    2. High current density, heat convergence, high deposition rate, and fast welding speed. Otherwise, the arc striking is casual and slapdash. Protection needs to be enhanced due to intense arc light and heavy smoke, so additional protection measures are required.

    Welding can be challenging for metals with low melting points and high volatility, such as copper, lead, tin, and zinc.

    The cold welding machine effectively replaces argon arc welding in the field of detailed forging or welding repairs for other detailed components.
