Engineering Method Features

（1）Inspection RoomThe wall thickness reaches 2.5 meters, the wall height is 16 meters, the roof slab thickness is 0.9 meters, the length is 42 meters, and the width is 17.8 meters. It is cast continuously in one piece without any construction joints, demanding high performance and stability from the formwork and scaffolding. (2) The large volume of concrete poured at once requires strict control of cement content in the concrete mix, using low heat of hydration cement. It also involves controlling the water-cement ratio and the temperature of the concrete being poured, employing a circulating water cooling system to lower the internal temperature of the concrete, managing the temperature difference between the inside and outside of the concrete, and preventing the formation of temperature cracks in the concrete.

Scope of Application

This method is applicable to the construction of reinforced concrete structures for radiation shielding rooms and other thick concrete walls for radiation shielding.

For larger containers, a blast-proof axial flow fan is used to force ventilation internally, ensuring that the concentration of flammable gases in the air within the container meets the prescribed levels.

2.1.6 Cut off power to the containers and set up clear signage. The lighting within the containers should not exceed 24V and provide visible light brightness of 100,000 lux. Cables introduced into the containers must be well-insulated and properly grounded.

2.1.7 Prior to ultrasonic, fluorescent penetration, and fluorescent magnetic particle inspection, the container shell joints and the 100mm width on both sides of the joints must be treated with metal surface sanding and rust removal, ensuring a rust-free, oil-free, and oxide-free surface.

2.1.8 Prior to thickness measurement, the metal surface at the thickness measurement point, located at a diameter of Ф30mm, must be polished and rust-removed to ensure there is no rust, oil, or oxidation scale (to be handled by the inspector). 2.2 Measures

2.2.1 To prevent high-altitude falling objects during container top inspections, a 1-meter-high net is encircled around the container's top railing.

To ensure the safety of inspectors during高空作业, a steel wire rope is stretched every 1 meter along the diameter of the container's top deck and securely fastened to the container's top guardrail, serving as a harness for the inspectors.

2.2.3 Personnel entering the container must wear a flammable gas detector to monitor the gas concentration inside, and there must be a supervisor at the container's manhole.

2.2.4 Individuals entering the container area must not carry any fire sources or wear steel-toed shoes. They are also prohibited from wearing synthetic work clothes. Vehicles must be equipped with fire extinguishers, and mobile phones must be kept in the off state.

2.2.5 Personnel entering the containment area must wear work uniforms, hats, and protective gear before testing. 2.2.6 Choose intrinsic-type testing equipment and materials, and use explosion-proof tools for operations in the containment area. 2.2.7 When on-site radiographic testing is required, isolate the radiography area, consider distance and shielding measures, set up radiation zone warnings, and install warning signs.
