XJ-1 Portable Shearing Instrument

1) Overview:The XJ-1 portable shearing instrument is our independently developed product.Original samples of irregularly shaped rocks are subjected to direct shear tests.The specimens used do not require regular geometric shapes, thus suitable for certain rock mass bedding planes and weak rocks (such as bedding planes, fault breccia zones, fissures, sliding surfaces, soft interlayers, various shales, phyllites, schists, altered rocks, strongly weathered rocks, etc.), as well as certain soils (such as gravelly high-strength clayey soils, glacial gravel, etc.).

OurJX-1The improved shear tester not only determines the structural planes of rock masses and soft rocks but also measures the shear strength of harder rocks, overcoming the issue of the previous tester flipping over during shear strength tests on slightly harder rocks. The problem with the old tester wasn't a lack of shear force; it was an unreasonable structure. Our improvements have brought about a complete transformation of the tester. It has a wide range of applications and high practical value.

(4) Test Objective

    Portable shear tester tests are a relatively new testing method for determining the peak and residual shear strength parameters of rock mass structural surfaces, soft rocks, and special soils. (6) Testing Principle

1. By encasing irregularly shaped specimens in concrete within a molding box, they are cast into fixed-size and -shape test pieces, which are then placed in a specific instrument of the same size and shape (i.e., portable shear tester) for testing. Since the specimens used in this test do not require a regular geometric shape, it is suitable for certain rock mass structures and weak rocks (such as bedding planes, fault破碎zones, fissures, sliding surfaces, soft interlayers, various shales, phyllites, schists, altered rocks, and strongly weathered rocks), as well as certain types of soil (such as gravel-containing high-strength cohesive soil, glacial gravel, etc.).

2. By converting the specimen into a regular shape through Method (1) and then performing a direct cut, it is possible to completely follow Coulomb's formula for the test and data compilation.
