Quartz powder is produced through two methods: dry and wet processes. Standard specifications include 120M, 200M, 260M, 325M, 600M, 800M, 1000M, and 2000M (M denotes mesh size). Additionally, we can customize non-standard sizes upon customer request, and we can also process with general particle size distribution requirements.
1. Dry process production of quartz powder, mainly equipped with crushers, pulverizers, and vibration screens. The production process involves the quartz stone ore being processed into smaller stones by the crushers, then the stones are further processed into sand particles by the pulverizers. Next, the sand is separated using a vibration screen, during which iron is removed with a magnet rod and a magnetic separator. Finally, the product is packaged and stored.
2. Quartz powder produced by water method, major equipment includes stone crushers, stone rollers, drying rooms, vibration screens, and waterway systems.
The process is roughly as follows: Quartz stone ore is processed into smaller stones by a stone crusher, then the stones are crushed into sand particles using a stone roller, continuously adding water during the crushing. The water carrying the sand particles flows into a sedimentation pool. The sand particles in the sedimentation pool are then transported to a drying room to be baked into dry sand particles. Afterward, they are sorted through a vibrating screen. During the sorting process, iron is removed using a magnet rod and an electromagnetic separator. Finally, they are packaged and stored in the warehouse.
Dry-process quartz powder is divided into two grades: ordinary quartz powder and refined quartz powder. Since the quartz stone ore has a yellow-brown skin when it is mined from the mountain, the smaller ore pieces that are directly crushed and sifted are called ordinary quartz powder, which has an appearance of alternating yellow-brown and white. Its advantage is the low price, but the disadvantage is the high content of impurities, so it is mostly used in the construction industry. Larger ore pieces are selected, the yellow-brown skin is manually removed, and then processed into refined quartz powder, which appears white and shiny, resembling white sugar. Due to the time and material-intensive processing, the price is higher.
Water-process quartz powder is divided into ordinary quartz powder and refined quartz powder. Smaller quartz stone ore is processed into ordinary quartz powder, while larger quartz stone ore is processed into refined quartz powder. Compared to dry-process quartz powder, water-process quartz powder produces less equipment iron and washes away impurities with water during production, resulting in lower iron content and fewer impurities than dry-process quartz powder. However, due to the labor and material-intensive processing, it is priced higher.
