Closed cooling towers are categorized into: Crossflow Closed Cooling Towers, Counterflow Closed Cooling Towers, and Compound Flow Closed Cooling Towers.
Principle of Reverse Flow Closed Circuit Cooling Towers
High-temperature working fluid enters the cooling coil, where waste heat is exchanged with falling spray water through the coil wall, creating a saturated, humid air mixture. Heat is expelled by the top-mounted fan, while moisture is redirected back to the collection trough by a special dehydration unit for recirculation.

Compared to other models, the internal design of the counterflow closed cooling tower typically does not use packing material, resulting in a more compact structure and reduced footprint, thus meeting the customer's space requirements. If the customer has special requirements for packing material, we can offer non-standard customized models with packing material.

Principle of operation for a horizontal closed-loop cooling tower
High-temperature working fluid enters the cooling coil, where waste heat is exchanged with the falling spray water through the coil's outer surface, creating a heat and mass transfer. This results in a vertical alternation of dry cold air entering from the side with saturated moist air. Heat is expelled by the top fan, while water is recirculated back to the collection basin using a special dehydration structure. Unlike counterflow cooling towers, the spray water in a crossflow closed-loop cooling tower is pre-cooled by PVC packing, significantly enhancing its heat exchange efficiency.

The working principle of a composite flow closed-loop cooling tower
High-temperature working fluid flows through the coils, with the coil exterior enveloped by spray water. Heat from the fluid is transferred through the tube walls, creating saturated steam with water and air. The heat is then exhausted into the atmosphere by a fan. The spray water, during its recirculation, is cooled through PVC finned radiators, forming a concurrent airflow with fresh air. The coils primarily rely on moist heat conduction. A key feature of the composite closed-loop cooling tower working principle is its ability to effectively inhibit the formation of scale on the coil exterior.
