Spray drying is a widely used process in the liquid process forming and drying industry. It is suitable for producing powdered or granular solid products from solutions, suspensions, and paste-like liquid raw materials. Therefore, it is an ideal process when the particle size distribution, residual moisture content, bulk density, and particle shape of the finished product must meet specific standards.
Operating Principle
Air is filtered and heated, then enters the top air distributor of the dryer, where it uniformly spirals into the drying chamber. The liquid material is processed by a high-speed centrifugal atomizer at the top of the tower, (rotating) atomized into extremely fine mist droplets, which then come into contact with the hot air and dry into finished products in a very short time. The finished products are continuously discharged from the bottom of the drying tower and the cyclone separator, while the exhaust gases are exhausted by the fan.
Performance Features
Fast drying speed, the liquid is atomized to greatly increase its surface area. In the hot air stream, 95%-98% of the moisture can evaporate instantly, with the drying process taking only a few seconds, especially suitable for drying heat-sensitive materials.
The product boasts excellent uniformity, fluidity, and solubility, with a high purity and superior quality.
Production process simplified, operation control convenient. Liquids with moisture content of 40-60% (special materials up to 90%) can be dried into powdered particles in one step, eliminating the need for crushing and screening, reducing production steps, and improving product purity. Particle size, bulk density, and moisture content can be adjusted within a certain range by changing operating conditions, making control and management easy.
