Steps for Quickly Resolving Oil Leaks in Spiral Bevel Reducers on Site

Implement online governance or shutdown governance while ensuring safety.

2. Determine the type of leakage, and for crack leakage, it is necessary to control the stress of the cracks, such as by drilling crack arrest holes.

3. Form grooves along the joint surface缝隙, approximately 5mm wide and 3mm deep is sufficient.

Clean the grinding area of the helical reducer with clean cotton yarn and anhydrous ethanol (99.6% concentration or higher).

5. Mix Sorrel SD2240 material in a 1:1 volume ratio, ensuring thorough blending until color consistency is achieved (mix quickly and in small batches to prevent premature curing from unused material; keep the blending time under 2 minutes).

6. Quickly apply SD2240 to seal the edges/-surfaces of oil leakage points, repeatedly scrape and press, ensuring the width of the application is within 10mm, ideally matching the width of the groove.

7. Solidification; after 30 minutes when the environmental or equipment temperature is above 24°C, inspect for any leakage points. If leakage points are found, continue to seal them.

8. If no leak points are present, apply the SD3010 polymer elastic material, maintaining a thickness of 2-3mm. The application width must not exceed the total sanding area, but it must be ensured that the width of the SD3010 material is more than 10mm wider than the SD2240 material.

Note: SD3010 material is a type of material designed for decelerating vibration. Once opened, it should be used up in one go if possible. If not, it must be sealed immediately and used within one week.
