BZ-03 New Type Hydroxypropyl Weatherproof Anti-corrosion Paint

Composition   This product is a two-component self-curing paint, composed of a resin base material, along with pigments, additives, fillers, solvents, and other ingredients.

Performance   New-generation hydroxypropyl weather-resistant and anticorrosive paint is primarily designed for the protection of engineering equipment in harsh environments such as marine climates and chemical industrial atmospheres, characterized by high salt fog, high humidity, and high acidity or alkalinity. It boasts excellent mechanical properties, adjustable luster, and a full, aesthetically pleasing film.

Usage   New-generation hydroxypropyl weather-resistant anticorrosive paint is suitable for outdoor heavy-duty anticorrosive coatings on bridges, port facilities, offshore platform equipment, ships, containers, chemical pipelines, and more.

Complementary System

The new hydroxypropyl weather-resistant and anticorrosive paint can be matched with various coatings for application in various industrial environments:

· Carbon steel, cast iron: Epoxy zinc-rich primer, epoxy iron red primer, inorganic zinc-rich primer + epoxy iron oxide intermediate coat + new hydroxypropyl weather-resistant coating.

Galvanized steel, stainless steel, aluminum alloy: HY-05 multi-functional primer + epoxy iron oxide intermediate coating + new hydroxypropyl weather-resistant anticorrosive finish paint.

· Fiberglass: Light gray epoxy primer + new hydroxypropyl weather-resistant coating.

· Plastic (ABS, etc.): Ready for use after surface treatment.

· Concrete: Epoxy primer + Epoxy iron oxide intermediate coat + new hydroxypropyl weather-resistant anticorrosive finish.

Construction Method

1. Base Material Treatment

The painted metal surface must be thoroughly cleaned of grease, oxidation scale, rust, and old coatings. Shot blasting or sandblasting methods can be used to achieve Swedish rust removal standard Sa2.5, with a roughness of 30-70μm. Alternatively, manual rust removal methods can be employed to meet the Swedish standard St3, also with a roughness of 30-70μm.

2. Mixed

Priced by weight ratio (as indicated on the product packaging)

Mix continuously while slowly adding the hardener to ensure thorough and even mixing.

After the mixed paint has aged (at 23±2℃) for 20 minutes, filter it through a 80-100 mesh screen and pour it into another container for later use.

Mixed paint has a shelf life of 2-3 hours. Please schedule usage according to the progress of the job.

3. Construction Conditions

The coating operation should be carried out as soon as possible after the substrate treatment, generally not exceeding 6 hours. If overcoating is applied on the primer or intermediate coat, construction should be recommended based on the paint curing interval. The substrate surface temperature and ambient temperature should generally not be below 10°C, with the surface temperature at least 5°C above the dew point, and the relative air humidity should not exceed 75%.

4. Painting Methods

This paint can be applied using brush painting, airless spraying, and air-assisted spraying methods.

5. Dilute

In most cases, paint requires a compatible thinner to adjust viscosity and clean tools. For spraying, a recommended ratio is 10-20%, while for roller and brush application, the ratio should be 5-8%.

6. Coating Interval

One-component paint can be coated after drying. For two-component paint, it is recommended to allow the following curing interval before coating:

After more than 14 days, if surface painting is required, the surface should ideally be sanded before repainting.

7. Safety Warning

During application, do not eat or smoke to avoid inhaling dust. If ventilation is poor, wear a respirator mask. For more information, refer to the MSDS report for this product series.
