Basic Classification of Planer Grinders

Planer grinders are a type of grinding machine used for grinding flat or shaped surfaces on workpieces. The main types include horizontal spindle rectangular table, horizontal spindle circular table, vertical spindle rectangular table, vertical spindle circular table, and various specialized planer grinders.

The horizontal boring and planer grinding machine: Workpieces are held on the rectangular electromagnetic worktable or clamped on the worktable and move in a reciprocating longitudinal motion. The grinding wheel carriage can move in a lateral intermittent feed motion along the dovetail guide rail of the slide seat (see machine tool guide rail) and the slide seat can move in a vertical intermittent feed motion along the guide rail of the column, using the periphery of the grinding wheel to grind the workpieces with high grinding accuracy.

The vertical spindle cylindrical grinding machine: The abrasive wheel spindle is vertically mounted to grind workpieces with the abrasive wheel face. The abrasive wheel carriage can make intermittent vertical feed movements along the guide rail of the column. Workpieces mounted on the rotating circular worktable can be continuously ground, resulting in high production efficiency. To facilitate the loading and unloading of workpieces, the circular worktable can also move longitudinally along the bed guide rail.

③ Axial Round Plate Planetary Grinding Machine: Suitable for grinding circular thin-walled workpieces, and can be used to grind annular workpieces of varying thicknesses by tilting the worktable.

④ The spindle rectangular table surface grinder: Due to the larger diameter of the abrasive wheel than the width of the worktable, it offers a larger grinding area, making it suitable for high-efficiency grinding.

⑤ Double-end face grinding machine: Utilizes two grinding wheel end faces to simultaneously grind two parallel planes of the workpiece, available in horizontal and vertical shaft types. The workpiece is guided through the grinding wheel by a straight-line or rotary feeding device. This grinding machine is highly efficient and suitable for mass production of components such as bearing rings and piston rings. Additionally, there are track grinding machines specifically designed for grinding machine guideways and specialized grinding machines for turbine blade end faces.
