Application of Liquid Spray Coating Technology

(1) Deburr precision castings

Utilizing liquid blasting for cleaning dense castings not only removes oxidation scales and residues from the casting surface but also serves as a polishing process, enhancing the surface finish of the casting. Particularly for precision castings with complex shapes and minimal allowances, employing liquid blasting for cleaning and polishing is an economical and effective method, such as for aeroengine turbine blades, etc.

Using liquid shot blasting to clean castings reveals a uniform metallic color of the parts, enhancing their aesthetic appearance. Liquid shot blasting yields even better results, simultaneously increasing the surface hardness and corrosion resistance of the parts. It also serves decorative purposes, such as for various instrument casings and frames.

Aluminum and copper alloys used in sand casting can achieve high surface quality through liquid shot peening. Liquid shot peening is generally not recommended for rough cast steel and cast iron blanks.

(II) Remove oxidation scale

After heat treatment, the oxide scale and residual salt are removed using liquid blast cleaning, which not only eliminates the oxide scale but also enhances the surface finish of the parts. Particularly, the liquid blast cleaning is more effective for complex-shaped molds and precision components. For instance, the use of liquid blast cleaning after heat treatment for files not only preserves the edge but also extends the service life of the files.

Various hot-rolled metal sheets, which can be cleaned of scale and spots with liquid shot blasting, are prepared for cold rolling to enhance the surface quality of the sheets.

(3) Remove fine burrs from machined parts

Burrs may be small, but their危害is significant. With technological advancement, the shapes of mechanical parts are becoming increasingly complex, and precision requirements are rising, demanding strict application conditions. There is no room for any burrs, such as in textile machinery parts, hydraulic components, precision and complex parts in the aerospace industry, and instruments, etc. Liquid shot blasting is efficient and high-quality for removing burrs, creating very small rounded corners at the junction of the two surfaces (which is required for many mechanical parts). Reasonable selection of process parameters can even enhance the original surface luster.

(C) Clean dirt and rust stains

A variety of molds such as forging, stamping, tire, plastic molding, and glassware molds, inevitably accumulate release agent residues and burn marks after use. Liquid shot blasting (or shot peening) provides an effective cleaning solution, significantly enhancing the mold's lifespan. For food molds, liquid shot blasting (shot) can meet sterilization requirements.

(5) Prepare for other surface treatment processes

Pre-treatment with liquid spray prior to electroplating ensures strong bonding of the plating layer, particularly evident in hard chrome plating. Examples include chrome plating on engine piston rings and textile machine wire roller surfaces.

Polishing Processing

Liquid blast (pellet) finishing is a highly effective method for surface finishing. Particularly for complex-shaped parts such as impeller engine blades and various die surfaces like coin dies, scent coin and commemorative coin dies, no other method can compare. It is an economical way to polish ceramics and diamonds using liquid blast finishing. This method is suitable for polishing friction wheels on chemical fiber textile machinery.

(7) To achieve a decorative surface with no reflective glare

Surfaces treated with liquid shot peening or shot peening (pellets) are non-reflective. Liquid shot peening or shot peening pellets are an effective process method for parts that require a smooth surface but do not allow reflection, such as surgical instruments, etc.

Other applications include the processing of abrasive glassware, patterned items, instrument panel surfaces, plastic drafting paper with sand finish, mirror finish on monocrystalline silicon surfaces, and plush processing of special fabric, with extensive use in liquid blasting.
