The stainless steel shot blasting machine is a type of blasting equipment that uses compressed air flow to spray quartz sand onto the surface of stainless steel parts, cleaning or modifying the surface. In other words, the oxide scale present on the surface of stainless steel castings, forgings, or after heat treatment can be removed, as well as rust, carbon deposits, slag, and other debris. It can also remove burrs at the edges of parts and minor directional scratches. Additionally, it can increase the surface roughness of stainless steel parts, thereby enhancing the adhesion of the backing coating.
Before dry shot blasting, stainless steel must be degreased, then dried to prevent affecting the blasting quality, and then the appropriate sand and air pressure are selected based on the part's thickness. The wet blasting method for stainless steel shot blasters involves mixing quartz sand with water to form a slurry, adding sodium nitrite if necessary, and then spraying it onto the surface of the part with compressed air. Compared to dry shot blasting, it eliminates sand dust pollution in the air and results in a smoother finishing surface.
The principle of the sandblasting machine operates by utilizing the air principle to drive abrasive material at high speeds, with a flow rate of approximately 80 meters per second. The sand flow part is prone to wear, so good wear-resistant materials are used to replace each worn area, thereby extending its service life. The vulnerable parts of the sandblasting machine include the nozzle, sand nozzle, air nozzle, gun body, sand tube, air tube, back sand tube, and three-way separator, among others.
Replacement and maintenance methods for consumable parts of stainless steel shot blasting machines: According to the maintenance instructions, regularly inspect the wear condition of the worn parts of the shot blasting machine; replace them promptly upon discovery of wear; the wear on the nozzle diameter of the shot blasting machine should not exceed 20%; the rubber sand tube should be replaced as a whole after aging and wear.
