Building Safety Net

Safety nets are protective nets set beneath or alongside high-altitude construction equipment during installation or during performance arts, to prevent accidents caused by human or object falls. They consist of the net body, edge rope, tie rope, and reinforcing rope. The net body is made of woven rope, featuring diamond or square mesh. Mesh size refers to the distance between adjacent rope knots. The rope around the four edges of the net body is called the edge rope. The size (nominal size) of the safety net is determined by the size of the edge rope; the rope used to secure the safety net to a support is known as the tie rope. Additionally, any rope used to enhance the strength of the safety net is collectively termed the reinforcing rope.

Usage Requirements

(1) Inspection of the net includes: No construction debris should be left inside, items should not be piled beneath, the net body must not show severe deformation or wear, and it should not be contaminated by chemicals, acid, alkali fumes, or burned by welding sparks.

(2) The support架must not exhibit severe deformation or wear, and its connecting parts must not be loose. Connections between the nets and between the nets and the support架are also not allowed to be loose. All tied ropes must not suffer severe wear or deformation.

(3) Regularly clean debris from within the net. Maintain the net's cleanliness. Also, prevent large amounts of welding sparks or other hot debris from falling into the net, and avoid high-temperature or steamy environments. If the net becomes contaminated by chemicals or if the rope is embedded with coarse sand particles or other abrasive foreign objects, it must be washed immediately, and then allowed to air dry naturally.

(4) The safety net should not be handled with hooks or tools with sharp edges to prevent damage to the rope. The net should be stored in a warehouse or facility, organized and batch-stored on shelves, and should not be piled randomly. The warehouse must meet conditions such as ventilation, light shielding, heat insulation, moisture-proofing, and protection from chemical corrosion. Regular inspections of the net are also required during storage to address any issues promptly and ensure safety.
