What to pay attention to when using geotextiles

Several precautions should be taken when using geotextiles. Therefore, staff should pay attention to these points when applying this product.

Firstly, when applying this product, it should be as embedded as possible, and the thickness of the soil or other materials covering it should not be less than 30 to 40 centimeters. The thicker, the better, to achieve the desired effects.

Secondly, this product cannot be used alone in a waterproofing system. It should be combined with products such as waterproofing layers and protective layers to achieve optimal effects. Relying solely on this product will not meet the predetermined goals. This is a point that staff need to be aware of in advance and strive to coordinate well with other system materials.

Thirdly, geotextiles must be chosen for construction sites with relatively solid soil. Additionally, they should be laid as evenly as possible to avoid the appearance of spots or cracks, which would significantly diminish the product's effectiveness. Moreover, when in contact with other films, they should be used as a protective layer.

Fourthly, during the specific laying process of this product, do not pull it too tightly. It's more appropriate to keep it slightly loose with a bit of ripple. Otherwise, it's prone to tearing due to the relatively thick soil layer on top. In case of a bad situation, it becomes very dangerous. Therefore, try to lay it more loosely to provide the geotextile with some flexibility.

Fifthly, do not allow stones to rest on top of this product during use, otherwise significant issues may arise.
