Isolation switches are high-voltage switchgear with extensive usage and a broad application range in the power system. Due to outdoor isolation switches beingNo Chinese content provided..Please provide the Chinese content to be translated.Electrical equipment that operates directly and severely affected by environmental climatic conditions, fully exposed to the atmosphere, has relatively harsh operating conditions and is prone to mechanical or electrical failures. Particularly, the contacting parts are susceptible to rain, dust, and harmful gases, leading to poor contact and subsequent overheating. The springs providing contact pressure may become weakened and lose tension due to overheating, creating a vicious cycle that further exacerbates the overheating of the contact points, ultimately causing damage and accidents. During maintenance, there is often a focus on replacing visibly failed or broken springs, but the springs with reduced pressure are not properly assessed or replaced. As a result, upon reoperation, the distribution of current across each contact point varies due to differing pressures, with greater differences leading to uneven distribution. Over time, this can cause poor contact and overheating. The overheating of contact points can lead to a cascade of poor contact throughout the entire contact head. Additionally, many isolation switches have adjustable contact point pressures. If the pressure adjustments during maintenance are insufficient or vary among different contact points, the same issues can arise.

Currently, the vast majority of maintenance personnel judge the quality of contact in the conductive parts by measuring their circuit resistance, believing that if the circuit resistance is within the acceptable range, the maintenance work on the conductive parts can be completed successfully. However, this is not the case. The circuit resistance values provided in the product manual are for the entire conductive circuit, including the bulk resistance and contact resistance of parts such as terminal blocks, conductive tubes, and contact tips, which have a wide range and ample margin. They cannot directly reflect the changes in contact resistance but only indicate the conductivity of the circuit. Tests show that the circuit resistance values for both two-pair and four-pair contact tips are within the acceptable range. Similarly, the pressure applied to the contact tips does not significantly affect the circuit resistance values.

Regulations for measuring contact pressure of measuring fingers are present in various maintenance procedures and standards, with the recommended tool being a spring scale. In practice, measuring the pressure of measuring fingers at heights is not only inconvenient and inaccurate but also unsafe. For some structures, like scissor-type switches, the pressure of the measuring fingers cannot be measured with a spring scale at all. Therefore, the requirement for measuring the contact pressure of measuring fingers is merely on paper.

In response to the current maintenance status of the power supply and distribution system, our company has independently developed an intelligent testing device for measuring the contact pressure of high-voltage isolator finger switches. By simply opening the sensor of the test clamp to simulate the contact at each pair of finger contacts, it can display and memorize the contact pressure at that moment. This effectively solves a major challenge in measuring finger pressure.

ED0307BThe Type Insulator Switch Contact Pressure Tester can also be used by insulator switch manufacturers for contact pressure testing; altering the shape of the pressure sensor can also measure the contact pressure of circuit breakers.
