The High-Voltage Cable Outer Sheath Fault Tester is a testing system developed by our company to address the issue of multiple grounding faults in the outer sheath of single-core cables in the current trend of high-voltage and ultra-high-voltage transmission within the power system. As ultra-high-voltage transmission lines typically consist of single-core cables (voltage grades of 35KV to 500KV), the metallic sheath is usually grounded at one end or in segmented cross互联 grounding. In the event of a breach in the outer sheath, a significant circulating current can occur, causing damage to the cable's main insulation. In response to the unique grounding method of ultra-high-voltage cable sheaths, this testing system is equipped with a bridge distance measurement section and a step voltage pinpointing section. Through effective combination, it can complete the testing of excessive grounding or leakage current in the outer sheath of ultra-high-voltage single-core cables, as well as significant hidden dangers and high-voltage cable main insulation faults. The equipment has no blind spots during testing, making it highly effective in locating leakage tracking failures in short cables and cable joints, which do not puncture. The entire system meets the requirements for testing high-voltage cable outer sheath faults.
