Vacuum drying ovens are designed specifically for drying heat-sensitive, easily decomposable, and oxidizable substances. They can be filled with inert gases, allowing for rapid drying of complex compositions as well. Vacuum Drying Oven Vacuum Extraction FAQs

Can you disconnect the power after the desiccator has been evacuated of vacuum?
Sure, the vacuum pump can be turned off after the vacuum is drawn.
If there's a valve between the vacuum pump and the housing, simply turn off the valve and disconnect the power.
If the vacuum pump is directly connected to the housing, after the power is disconnected, the pump will stop operating, and the negative pressure inside the housing may suck the oil out of the pump.
Can the vacuum pump be turned off after the drying chamber is evacuated?
This issue primarily depends on the characteristics of the dried material. If there's a high solvent content, continuous pumping is necessary; otherwise, the vaporized solvent can condense upon contact with the box wall, potentially even dripping into the dried material. Therefore, it's not recommended to shut off the vacuum pump for dried materials with a high solvent content.
Shut off the vacuum pump for materials with less solvent, then vacuum store after excluding a small amount of water vapor.
Why do we need to vacuum the drying chamber first before heating it up?
If heated first, the internal gases of the box, especially water vapor, will undergo chemical reactions with the dry objects inside at high temperatures, thus rendering the vacuum drying box ineffective.
How is the heating temperature controlled in a vacuum drying oven under vacuum conditions?
The vacuum drying oven is designed and manufactured based on the common requirements of different user needs. Although the control methods, structures, materials, and shapes vary, the principle or method of heating is essentially the same. Therefore, it is recommended that users conduct an application test first when using it for the first time, which involves recording the surface condition of the objects to be heated, the quantity of the objects, their placement, and the readings of the instruments and thermometers. After the drying process is complete, check the drying effect and decide on the optimal quantity of items and the readings of the instruments (or thermometers) from it. This approach can achieve twice the results with half the effort.
