XR-108A Sulfur Sulfur Recovery Catalyst is a high-activity Claus and "leak O2" protective bifunctional catalyst. The catalyst is mainly composed of modified active alumina carrier loaded with an appropriate amount of active metal salts. When "leak O2" is present in the gas flow, it can catalytically convert O2 to SO2 (the conversion mechanism is as follows):

 MSO4+2H2S→MS2+SO2+2H2O 

MS2+O2→MSO4+SO2 

Reduce the residual O2 in the Claus process gas to below 10 ppm to avoid or protect against the sulfatization poisoning of the Al2O3-based catalyst.
