This series of loss-of-power brake must operate oil-free to avoid affecting the torque; it can be installed horizontally, and vertical installation is allowed in certain low-speed applications. The square core (splined sleeve) must be axially fixed on the shaft. When the brake is de-energized, the spring pushes the armature and friction disk, clamping the friction disk between the bracket and the armature to achieve braking. During installation, ensure that the friction disk can slide freely on the square core (splined sleeve) and that the shaft is perpendicular to the installation base. This means that when the brake is energized, the friction disk can rotate freely between the armature and the bracket with no noticeable noise or damping.
