Therefore, to ensure the quality of the blackbody, they are typically designed in sections by temperature. The blackbody we commonly refer to is an artificial blackbody. The emissivity of the artificial blackbody is close to 1 but not equal to 1.

The blackbody is mainly used in the industrial field for temperature measurement, with the main product being a blackbody furnace. Calibration and verification of radiation thermometers are typically carried out using the comparative method, which involves a high-stability radiation source (usually a standard blackbody). Blackbody radiation sources and other ancillary equipment are used to compare the temperature reenactment of the standard instrument with that of the tested radiation thermometer, to determine its qualification or provide calibration results.
