Product Definition
A steel-lined PE dome is a composite pipe or container end cover, formed by a tightly bonded external carbon steel shell with an internal lining of polyethylene (PE) plastic. It combines the mechanical strength of steel with the excellent corrosion resistance of PE.
2. Core Structure and Technology
- Shell: Typically made of carbon steel or low-alloy steel, offering structural strength and pressure-bearing capacity.
- Lining: Made from imported high-density polyethylene (HDPE) or linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE).
- Molding Process: Mainly uses rotational molding or sheet metal pressing. The rotational molding process can form a seamless, stress-free complete PE lining, particularly suitable for complex-shaped heads.
3. Key Features and Advantages
- Excellent corrosion resistance: The inner PE lining effectively resists the erosion of most acids, alkalis, salts, and organic solvents.
- Steel-Plastic Combination: Through special process treatment, steel and PE form a high-intensity bond that is not easily peeled off or formed into blisters.
- Smooth, Non-stick: The inner wall is as smooth as a mirror, with a low coefficient of friction, resists scaling, and facilitates smooth material flow and cleaning.
- Excellent resistance to vacuum pressure: Advanced "Turtle Shell Lining" technology or steel mesh reinforcement structure can effectively withstand vacuum (negative pressure) fluctuations caused by temperature changes.
- Long service life: Lasts several times longer than standard stainless steel and carbon steel caps in corrosive environments, offering high overall cost-effectiveness.
4. Main Types
- By shape: Standard elliptical caps, butterfly caps, flat-bottomed caps, conical caps, etc.
- By process: Sphero-lined End Caps, Molding-lined End Caps, Tortoise-lined End Caps.
5. Typical Application Fields
Widely used in industries such as chemicals, metallurgy, power, environmental protection, pharmaceuticals, and food, for the transportation, storage, and processing of corrosive media, such as:
- End caps for acid and alkali storage tanks
- Reaction kettle, extraction tank head covers
- Towers components for Flue Gas Desulfurization (FGD) systems
- Ends and connections of chemical pipeline systems
