Instrument Application
The Dynamic Mechanical Analyzer (DMA) measures a material's mechanical properties as a function of time, temperature, and frequency. By applying force to the material and causing it to deform in a dynamic oscillatory environment, it is possible to assess the material's viscoelasticity and how this viscoelasticity varies as a function of temperature, time, frequency, stress, atmosphere, or combinations of these parameters. Widely used in fields such as plastics, rubber, films, fibers, coatings, ceramics, glass, metals, and composites.
