It is ready for use after adding a certain amount of water during construction, stirring until well blended. How to apply Sikalastic Grout:
1. Prepare mixers, grouting equipment, molds, and maintenance items. Clean the grouting area and pre-wet the concrete surface in advance.
2. Set up formwork and seal the joints with cement (sand) mortar and plastic tape to ensure no leakage or seepage.
3. Add water to the slurry at 12-15% of its weight, then mix (mechanical mixing for 2-3 minutes, manual mixing for over 5 minutes).
4. Pour the well-mixed grouting material into the grouting area from one direction. Use bamboo sticks or steel rods for guidance if necessary, and gently vibrate or tap the formwork for proper compaction.
5. After completion of construction, immediately cover with a plastic film and then cover with straw curtains or cotton blankets for 3-7 days of moist curing.

However, after years of research, it is generally agreed that the main cause of shrinkage in hardened cement is the evaporation and loss of water from capillary and gel pores. In other words, drying shrinkage causes water loss in the capillary pores of the hardened paste, leading to the formation of concave liquid surfaces and creating a pressure difference P between the inner and outer walls of the capillary pores.
