The lifting and lowering movement of the single-person electric basket suspended scaffold is achieved by alternately lifting and lowering the movable and fixed frames using a manual or electric come-along. From the structure of the lifting frame, there is relative up and down movement between the movable and fixed frames. When the scaffold is in use, both frames are anchored to the wall with wall bolts, and there is no relative movement between the frames.

When the scaffolding requires lifting or lowering, one of the movable or fixed frames remains anchored to the wall. Using a winch, the other frame is lifted or lowered, creating relative movement between the two. By alternating the attachment of the movable and fixed frames to the wall and lifting or lowering them together, the scaffolding can be raised or lowered layer by layer through the pre-drilled holes in the wall.
