Advantages of LNG

Compared to LPG and CNG, the advantages of LNG as a substitute automotive fuel are as follows:

(1) Clean and Environmentally Friendly. As a fuel for vehicles, LNG must first be vaporized by a vaporizer and then enter the engine in a gaseous state for complete combustion. Due to the high methane content of up to 90%-99% in the composition of LNG, the exhaust contains very low levels of harmful substances, making it highly clean and environmentally friendly.

(2) High calorific value per unit price. Compared to other fuels, LNG offers a lower price and higher calorific value per unit. The low-temperature characteristics of LNG can reduce the temperature of the mixed gas and the combustion temperature, improving the engine's thermal efficiency. This effectively ensures that LNG burns more completely and thoroughly than LPG, CNG, diesel, and gasoline within the engine. Additionally, with its high energy density and high storage efficiency, LNG is more favorable for transportation and has a wider geographic scope of use. Therefore, LNG has strong economic and applicability advantages.

(3) High safety levels. LNG fuel tanks allow for working pressures up to 1.586 MPa, with the factory-set operating pressure range for natural gas being 0.1759 to 1.4074 MPa. The advantages of natural gas include a lower likelihood of danger compared to CNG. Automotive LNG storage tanks commonly use double-layer metal vacuum powder insulation or double-layer metal vacuum wrapped insulation structures, offering high thermal insulation efficiency and enabling longer periods without venting. After gasification, LNG has a lower density than air under normal pressure, so even in the event of a leak, it will quickly disperse in the air. The risk of spontaneous combustion is low. Additionally, the composition of LNG is relatively stable, with its uniformity and simplicity in composition being beneficial for determining design parameters like engine compression ratios, thus avoiding the detrimental effects of explosive combustion of components like ethane and propane. As an alternative automotive fuel, LNG ensures smooth engine operation, reduces noise pollution, and can save over 50% on engine maintenance costs compared to conventional fuels.

The utilization and development of natural gas are crucial to optimizing our country's energy structure and ecological civilization construction. One of the advantages of natural gas - safety

The gas density of natural gas is half that of air. Compressed natural gas is lighter than air, highly volatile, and not easily explosive. The methane, ethane, and propane in natural gas are inherently non-toxic. In comparison to bottled gas, pipeline gas is safer. This is because pipeline gas utilizes a centralized storage and supply management method at gasification stations, avoiding the safety risks associated with the scattered storage of bottled gas, liquefied natural gas tanks, and self-use. The indoor pressure of pipeline gas is only 1/130 of that of tap water and 1/170 of bottled gas pressure. The natural gas storage capacity of the gas pipeline is very small, approximately 1/3000 of bottled gas when calculated at a household's 12-meter indoor pipeline length. In case of a leak or fire due to other reasons, simply closing the main valve or the unit riser valve indoors can cut off the gas supply and eliminate the danger. In contrast, in a similar situation with bottled liquefied petroleum gas, it is difficult to effectively close or remove the gas cylinder, which can easily lead to explosions.

Natural Gas Benefit Two - Economical

Economical and affordable is one of the advantages of natural gas, and it's also a key factor in the rapid nationwide adoption of pipeline natural gas. Compared to other fuels in the market, using pipeline natural gas can save at least 25% to 35% on monthly costs under the same usage volume (calorific value) as bottled LPG. This not only eliminates the expenses of purchasing and regularly inspecting steel cylinders but also reduces the costs and hassle of transporting and replacing LPG in daily life. The cost of using natural gas is more than 35% cheaper than electricity, and about 25% to 35% cheaper than diesel or heavy oil.
