The principle of the rubber curing tester for determining the curing characteristics of uncured rubber compounds: A sample of uncured rubber is placed into a sealed or nearly sealed mold cavity and maintained at a predetermined test temperature. The mold cavity consists of upper and lower sections, with one section oscillating slightly. This oscillation induces shear strain in the sample, measuring the reactive torque (force) of the sample against the mold cavity. This torque (force) depends on the shear modulus, which continuously changes with curing time, generated during the curing process of the rubber compound. Starting from the moment the rubber compound is placed into the mold, the curing tester automatically records the torque values that reflect the shear strain of the rubber compound. Consequently, a torque-time relationship curve, known as the curing curve, is obtained. Its shape is related to the set test temperature and the properties of the rubber compound.
Rubber vulcanization testers come in two main forms: reciprocating measurement and torsional measurement. The latter is more widely used due to its ability to provide a more comprehensive sample. The National Standard 80V/'$%'W&''' (Disk Oscillating Vulcanization Tester) specifies the temperature control range, the range for recording the vulcanization curve (torque vs. time curve), and the methods for obtaining胶料常数 such as shear values and time values from the curve.

The studio (mold) contains a rotor that continuously oscillates at a certain frequency (1.7 to 1.0 Hz) with a slight angle (3). The rubber material surrounding the rotor gradually increases in vulcanization degree and modulus under specific temperatures and pressures, causing the torque of the rotor's oscillation to increase proportionally. The change in torque values is converted into signals by the sensor inside the instrument and sent to the recorder for amplification and recording. The curve of torque changing with time is the vulcanization characteristic curve.
