The HCR type serial electric heater is a new type of electric heat tracing product. Its distinctive feature, compared to other electric heaters, is its longer usable length. Therefore, it is particularly suitable for long-distance pipelines in the oil, chemical, power, and port industries, as well as for large tank pools and oil tanks for frost prevention, insulation, and heat tracing. When combined with other explosion-proof accessories, it can be used in Class II explosion-proof gas environments.

4. Working Principle

According to Ohm's Law, as current flows through a conductor, it continuously releases energy, forming a continuous, evenly heated electric heating tape.

5. Structural Form

The Type A structure consists of three separate, identical power, and length electric heating tapes combined together.

The B-type structure consists of three electric heat bands, insulated and arranged in parallel.

The insulation sheath and outer insulation sheath of the HCR type series electric heater are both F46 or F4, with a heating core wire made of special heating wire, screen reinforced with copper braiding, outer sheath, inner insulation sheath, and heating core.

6. Installation Instructions

When installing electric heat tapes, they should not be dragged on the ground.

(2) When installing electric heating tapes, if sharp edges are encountered, they must be filed smooth or padded with aluminum tape to prevent the insulation layer from being scratched.

(3) When installing electric heating tapes, the smaller bending radius should not be less than five times the thickness.

(4) Install the electric heating tape using aluminum tape for bonding, which not only increases the heat dissipation surface and promotes heat conduction but also facilitates installation. After laying, fix it radially with adhesive tape every 50-80 cm.

(5) Series electric heating tapes are generally designed according to the actual pipeline length. Therefore, they must be installed strictly to the designed length; both over-length and under-length installations affect the power output, so arbitrary cutting is not permitted.

(6) Install the cable heater in a Y-connection for installation. To avoid tri-phase current errors, grounding is required at the end.

(7) The electric heating control cabinet is equipped with overload, short-circuit, leakage protection, and temperature control devices to ensure the quality of use.

(8) For electric heating cables buried underground or in areas with corrosive gases, reinforced cables should be used.
