Stainless steel welded pipes boast excellent compressive strength, corrosion resistance, and stress corrosion resistance, thus finding wide application in various fields. Why are stainless steel welded pipes increasingly popular?

1. High Precision: Welded pipes are a deep-processed product of sheet materials, boasting an unparalleled advantage of uniform wall thickness. They can also be customized to any length with high accuracy. The welding process is simple, with a wide range of product specifications and a smooth surface finish. The commonly used "welding-cold rolling" production process for stainless steel pipes involves cutting and shaping cold-rolled coils to the required specifications, then welding them into pipes and cold rolling (drawing) them further, ensuring that the weld's performance indicators are essentially consistent with the base material, thereby improving product quality and precision.

2. Economic and Environmental Friendly: During the production of stainless steel welded pipes, the pipe body undergoes uniform extrusion, followed by an online bright solidification and annealing process, resulting in an extremely smooth surface. This smooth surface is less prone to scaling, offering anti-scaling properties. This not only facilitates heat dissipation but also eliminates the need for frequent cleaning, saving time, effort, and money.

Caution for stainless steel welded pipe usage:

1. Generally, a vertical external characteristic power supply is used, with a positive polarity in DC.

2. Suitable for welding thin plates of 6mm or less, featuring attractive weld bead shapes and minimal deformation.

3. The protective gas is argon with a purity of. When the welding current is 50~50A, the argon flow rate is 8~0L/min; when the current is 50~250A, the argon flow rate is 2~5L/min.

4. The length of the tungsten electrode extending from the gas nozzle is best at 4-5mm, 2-3mm in areas with poor shielding like corner welding, 5-6mm in areas with deep grooves, and the distance from the nozzle to the workpiece should generally not exceed 5mm.

5. To prevent the formation of weld pores, ensure that any rust, oil, or dirt on the welding area is thoroughly cleaned.

6. For welding mild steel, a welding arc length of 2~4mm is ideal, whereas for stainless steel, a length of ~3mm is preferable; longer arcs result in poor protective effects.

7. During the grounding process, to prevent oxidation of the backside of the base weld, gas protection should also be applied to the backside.

8. To ensure effective argon protection of the welding pool and facilitate welding operations, the tungsten electrode centerline should generally be maintained at an angle of 80~85° with respect to the welding workpiece. The angle between the filler wire and the workpiece surface should be as small as possible, ideally around 0°.
