Demolition of buildings containing hazardous chemicals for production, use, or storage requires review by fire and safety departments, establishment of safety plans, and implementation upon approval. Set up temporary protective facilities to prevent sand, stone, and dust from affecting normal production during demolition. Establish a caution zone sign in the hazardous area. Ensure temporary power and water supplies for construction, and do not use the electrical facilities within the building being demolished for site lighting; an alternative installation should be provided.
