Section 3: Sandblasting Process Parameters:
Choose a 22 kW air compressor for compressed gas.
2: To test the purity of compressed air, follow these steps: Spray compressed air onto a white paper for 20-30 seconds. If there are no oil or moisture stains left on the paper, the compressed air is considered clean and can be used for sandblasting rust removal.
3: Nozzle Diameter: Opt for 8-10mm.
4: Spray Distance: Opt for a range between 100-200mm.
5: Spray Angle: Opt for 30-75 degrees.
Four: Sandblasting Methods
1. The sandblasting connection is ready, materials prepared. Start the air compressor, adjust the pressure to 0.6-0.7Mpa, and test the compressed air flow at the nozzle with a clean white cloth to ensure there's no oil or moisture.
2. Operators put on protective gear, adjust ventilation, connect the signal, turn on the switch, blow air and sand, and start spraying. The top and bottom surfaces of the workpiece are sprayed from the inside out in sequence.
3. Sandblasting should be evenly distributed and not too fast to avoid missed spots and affect quality. Focus on the areas of welds, corners, and intact oxidation scales (welds should be smooth, free of slag, no weld spatter, and convexity should be less than 3 mm).
4. The compressed air used for sandblasting must be processed through a cooling unit and an oil-water separator to ensure dry, oil-free air. The oil-water separator must be cleaned regularly.
5. Ensure that the compressed air used for sandblasting is dry, free of moisture and oil contamination. Replace the air filter's packing material regularly, and periodically drain the accumulated liquid from the air cushion tank and oil-water separator.

The difference between wet sandblasting machines and dry sandblasting machines is that wet sandblasters mix the abrasive material with water, creating a slurry that is then rapidly jetted onto the workpiece using high-pressure gas through a nozzle, achieving a surface finishing effect. Dry sandblasters cannot mix sand with water. Wet sandblasters are much more efficient and consume less abrasive material than dry sandblasters, improving the cleanliness and smoothness of the workpiece surface, enhancing its strength and adhesion, and are environmentally friendly with no pollution.
