According to the GB1223-75 T method test, the intergranular corrosion tendency of the 00Cr20Ni25Mo4.5Cu steel is revealed, with a slight tendency to organize when the steel contains 0.038% C. This steel requires sensitization for over one hour to show intergranular corrosion. The 5Cu steel contains 25% Ni, thus exhibiting superior stress corrosion resistance compared to the more common Cr-Ni austenitic steel. In simpler terms, when 18-8, 18-12-mo stainless steel is prone to stress corrosion cracking in a chloride-containing water medium, the 409 stainless steel round bar, choosing 00Cr20Ni25Mo4.5Cu often prevents the occurrence of work.
