Hastelloy C-22 Properties:
Hastelloy C-22 alloy is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum-wolfram alloy from QUAN, offering superior overall corrosion resistance compared to other existing nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloys, including Hastelloy C-276, C4, and 625 alloys. It boasts excellent resistance to pitting, crevice, and stress corrosion cracking. It exhibits exceptional resistance to oxidizing aqueous media, including wet chlorine, nitric acid, or oxidizing mixtures containing chloride ions. Additionally, Hastelloy C-22 alloy has ideal resistance to both reducing and oxidizing environments encountered during processing. Leveraging these WAN capabilities, it can be used in challenging environments or applied in various manufacturing facilities. Hastelloy C-22 alloy exhibits extraordinary resistance to a wide range of chemical environments, including strong oxidizing substances like ferric chloride, copper chloride, chlorine, and thermal polluted solutions (both organic and inorganic), as well as acetic anhydride, methyl ethyl ketone, seawater, and saline solutions. It can resist grain boundary precipitation in the heat-affected zone during welding, making it suitable for many chemical processes in the welded state.
Microstructure of Hastelloy C-22:
Hastelloy C-22 features a face-centered cubic crystal structure.
Hastelloy C-22 corrosion resistance:
Hastelloy C-22 alloy is suitable for various chemical process industries involving oxidizing and reducing media. The higher molybdenum and chromium content allow the alloy to withstand chloride ion attack, while tungsten further enhances its corrosion resistance. Hastelloy C-22 is one of the few materials that can resist corrosion from moist chlorine gas, hypochlorites, and chlorine dioxide solutions. The alloy exhibits significant corrosion resistance to high concentrations of chloride salt solutions, such as ferric chloride and copper chloride.
Hastelloy C-22 applications include:
Hastelloy C-22 alloy is widely used in the chemical and petrochemical industries, such as in components and catalytic systems contacting chloride-containing organic substances. This material is particularly suitable for use in high-temperature, mixed-inorganic and organic (such as methane and ethane) environments subject to seawater corrosion.
Application fields include: power plant desulfurization and denitrification environmental protection, petrochemical equipment, coal chemical industry, fluorochemical industry, fine chemicals, PTA, aviation manufacturing, offshore platforms, seawater desalination, papermaking machinery, heat exchange equipment, electrochemistry, metallurgy, nuclear energy, chlorine, shipbuilding, cement production, composite panels, acetic anhydride, salt production, and plate heat exchangers, as well as bellows expansion joints, and other industries and products.
