During the production process, wastewater quality and volume vary significantly due to different types of W and production techniques. Generally, industrial wastewater can be classified into four major categories based on product characteristics and water quality features, namely:
(1) Synthetic W production wastewater: This type of wastewater has significant variations in water quality and quantity, often containing non-biodegradable substances and inhibitors for microbial growth.
(2) Biological production wastewater, typically from antibiotics and some other substances, can be categorized based on its production characteristics into extraction wastewater, washing wastewater, C production wastewater, and other wastewater. Among these, extraction wastewater is the primary source of organic matter and antibacterial substances, making it a challenging type of wastewater to treat.
(3) Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) production wastewater exhibits significant fluctuations in quality, with COD levels as high as 6000 mg/L and BOD₅ reaching...
2500 mg/L, this type of wastewater primarily contains natural organic pollutants.
(4) Wash water and rinse water from the production of various preparations; wastewater from preparation production generally has a low level of pollution, mainly derived from wash water of raw materials, residue of original decoction, and ground rinse water.
