Description:
Fiber Bragg Grating products utilize ultraviolet light passing through a mask grating onto bare optical fiber, causing a change in the refractive index of the fiber core, forming a Bragg grating. After encapsulation, the grating becomes a strain gauge. When subjected to external stress and strain changes, the grating spacing varies, and the reflected wavelength changes. Since there is a linear relationship between wavelength and strain, this allows for precise measurement of strain values.
Fiber Bragg Grating strain gauges are available in embedded and surface-mounted types. The strain sensors are specifically designed for internal strain measurement in materials such as concrete, reinforced concrete, or steel structures, to enable long-term observation of structural strain changes, conduct condition analysis, and achieve early warning and fault diagnosis.
