(2) Adaptable to emergency requirements
Fire situations in real-time are unpredictable, and there can be no momentary delay during the incident, thus, vertical fire pumps must meet the adaptability requirements in this aspect. Their adaptability should be reflected in several aspects: Firstly, when a fire occurs, the vertical fire pump must be able to start up promptly; secondly, if the water volume suddenly increases to exceed the required working range, it must be capable of meeting the performance adjustment requirements.
Actually, different applications and occasions require different types of pumps. It is essential to select the appropriate pump based on their specific needs, and the trend towards developing general-purpose pumps is inevitable.
(1) Fire flow is relatively regular. The hydrant water supply system increases by 5L/s in increments. The automatic sprinkler fire extinguishing system increases by flow values corresponding to light, medium, and severe hazard levels.
Centrifugal pump working principle
Before the pump is started, first fill the pump and the inlet pipe with water. Once the pump is running, the water in the impeller passage is thrown outward due to the centrifugal force generated by the high-speed rotation of the impeller, pushed into the volute casing. The impeller creates a vacuum, and water from the pool is drawn into this space through the suction pipe under the pressure of the external atmosphere. The water then gets thrown out by the impeller, enters the volute casing, and finally flows into the discharge pipe. Thus, if the impeller of a centrifugal pump continues to rotate, it can continuously suction and press water, allowing water to be continuously lifted from a lower to a higher or distant location. In summary, the centrifugal pump lifts water to a higher position due to the centrifugal force generated by the high-speed rotation of the impeller, hence the name centrifugal pump.
Why does a fire pump motor overload? What to do when a fire pump motor overloads? What kind of failures can a fire pump motor encounter, and what are the causes of fire pump motor overload? You must have countless doubts when facing fire pump motor overload. So, let's take a look at the solutions together.
