Partial discharge is a pulse discharge that generates a series of physical phenomena and chemical changes, including light, sound, electrical, and mechanical vibrations, both inside and around electrical equipment. These various physical and chemical changes associated with partial discharge can provide detection signals for monitoring the internal insulation condition of electrical equipment. When insulation defects occur within high-voltage electrical equipment, partial discharge signals are typically produced. By detecting and analyzing these partial discharge signals, it is possible to determine if there are insulation hazards within the high-voltage equipment, preventing the further expansion of potential accidents.

The EDJF-9008 Multi-functional Partial Discharge Detector manufactured by Wuhan鄂电Electric Power Test Equipment Co., Ltd. is a portable multi-functional instrument. It utilizes ground electrical waves, ultrasonic waves, ultra-high frequency, and high-frequency current detection methods to test the partial discharge of equipment, enabling the reading of partial discharge amplitude and waveform patterns. It offers storage and reading capabilities for 2D and 3D patterns, and can effectively evaluate the partial discharge conditions of electrical equipment. This multi-functional partial discharge detector is suitable for the partial discharge detection of electrical equipment such as GIS, switchgear, transformers, and power cables.
