Plate evaporators are widely used in the evaporation market due to their high thermal conductivity efficiency, easy maintenance, and easy scalability.

The plate evaporator is mainly composed of: plate-type preheater, plate-type heat exchanger, plate-type condenser, as well as material pumps, separators, demisters, steam washing towers, pipelines, etc. This is because the heat exchanger in the complete set of equipment is a plate-type heat exchanger, which is the evaporation equipment. This type of evaporator is used in the evaporation process and primarily utilizes plates as the main heat transfer elements.

The working principle of the plate evaporator is to heat the material to be evaporated through heat exchange across the wall, raising its temperature to above the boiling point at the corresponding pressure, resulting in continuous boiling. This boiling then separates into a high-concentration liquid and pure saturated steam in the gas-liquid separator, achieving the purpose of concentration.

Plate evaporator materials and steam channels are alternately assembled from the same plates, utilizing sealing gaskets or welding. The assembly styles include removable, semi-welded, and fully-welded.

Detachable plate-type evaporators offer advantages such as high overall heat transfer efficiency, low comprehensive cost, reduced consumption of precious metals, relatively small land area, easy operation and maintenance, and adjustable evaporation area.

Plate evaporators have a high heat transfer coefficient, facilitating easy achievement of vigorous turbulent flow in the feed liquid, which is 2 to 3 times higher than that of tubular evaporators. Plate evaporators are less prone to clogging, and the feed liquid forms a turbulent flow on the heat exchange surface, scrubbing the evaporator, thus delaying the scaling cycle.

Plate-type evaporators are compact and small in size. In the same evaporation capacity, the space occupied by plate-type evaporators is only one-third to one-fourth of that by tube-type evaporators, and their height is only one-tenth. They are also very convenient for maintenance, requiring only the loosening of the bolts on the plate heat exchanger. Expanding the capacity of plate heat exchangers is also straightforward, making them adaptable to various environments and overcoming space constraints.
