Spackle powder is a type of decorative building material, primarily composed of talcum powder and adhesive. The surface layer of the newly purchased raw house, which is white spackle, usually has a brightness above 90 and fineness above 330.
Putty is a base material used for wall repair and leveling, providing a solid foundation for the next decorative steps (painting or wallpapering). Putty comes in two types: interior and exterior. Exterior putty needs to withstand wind and sun exposure, so it has a high viscosity and strength, but a slightly lower environmental index. Interior putty has a better overall index, is healthy and environmentally friendly, so it's not used externally, and exterior putty is not used internally. Typically, putty is made of gypsum or cement-based, which makes the surface rough and easier to bond firmly. However, during construction, it's still necessary to apply a primer on the base to seal it and enhance the wall's adhesion, allowing the putty to bond better with the base surface.
