Salt Furnace, Salt Pot
A molten salt furnace is a high-temperature reaction equipment that uses molten salts as both a heat transfer medium and reactant, and achieves chemical reactions by controlling the furnace temperature and reaction conditions. It boasts unique advantages and is increasingly becoming a crucial industrial production equipment, playing a significant role in various fields.
The principle of the molten salt furnace operates based on the properties of molten salts, by heating the salts to reach a high temperature, and then utilizing the high-temperature salts as a heat transfer medium to achieve chemical reactions.
A molten salt tank is a device used for storing high-temperature liquid molten salt, primarily serving to store heat and provide the required heat to users such as reactors or heat exchangers, or to store excess heat.
Molten salt tanks are typically designed as horizontal cylindrical vessels for storing molten salts. Initially, solid molten salt is placed into the tank, then heated to the required temperature to melt the salt. Subsequently, molten salt pumps are used to transfer the molten salt to devices in need of heat exchange, such as molten salt furnaces, reactors, heat exchangers, evaporators, etc., to achieve the heat exchange objective. Due to the high temperature of molten salt, large temperature differences between hot and cold in thermal power plants, and frequent startups, a high-temperature pressure transmitter suitable for these extreme operating conditions is required.
The molten salt furnace has the following advantages compared to traditional reaction equipment:
1. High-temperature thermal conductivity: Molten salts possess a high thermal conductivity, enabling more efficient transfer of heat at high temperatures. This allows molten salt furnaces to provide higher thermal efficiency and more stable reaction conditions.
2. Excellent thermal stability: The molten salt has a high melting point and excellent thermal stability, making it resistant to evaporation and decomposition at high temperatures, suitable for high-temperature reaction requirements.
3. Wide operating temperature range: The molten salt furnace can operate within a broad temperature spectrum, accommodating varying reaction requirements.
