Thickness
Due to the extremely thin tin coating on tinplate, in practical applications, the thickness of the tin coating can be disregarded when considering the thickness of the tinplate. Therefore, the thickness specified in the product standards essentially refers to the thickness of the steel base plate. According to the definition stipulated by the national standard GB/T2520, the thickness range of one-time cold-rolled tinplate is 0.15-0.60mm, and the thickness range of two-time cold-rolled tinplate is 0.12-0.36mm. When the nominal thickness of the tinplate is less than 0.50mm, it is graduated in multiples of 0.01mm; when the nominal thickness is 0.50mm or more, it is graduated in multiples of 0.05mm. The allowable deviation in thickness of the tinplate is not more than ±7% of the nominal thickness, and the thickness measurement should be taken at any point not less than 10mm from the edges of the steel plate.
