Self-limiting electric heat tracing, also known as self-regulating or self-controlled electric heat tracing, automatically adjusts the local heating power of the heat tracing system based on temperature changes under normal operating conditions.
As shown in the figure, after the busbar is applied with working voltage, conductive particles in the semiconductor core strip form a current path between the busbars. As the temperature rises, the semiconductor core strip expands, reducing the current path and lowering power; conversely, power increases. The conductive carbon particles in the semiconductor core strip are extremely tiny, and this regulating mechanism exists at every complete structure of the self-limiting temperature electric heating tape. Therefore, in applications where temperature control is not required, the self-limiting temperature electric heating tape can be used without a temperature controller; any cutting and connection within its length of use will not affect its heating structure, and it can be overlapped without causing overheating damage to the heating structure.

Three-layer Co-extruded Self-limiting Electric Heat Tape
This product incorporates cutting-edge domestic technology, with its core technology being the simultaneous extrusion of the conductor, a low-resistance transition layer wrapped around the conductor, a semiconductor core strip, and an inner insulating layer. The self-limiting temperature electric heat tracing cable produced using the three-layer co-extrusion technique boasts a tightly structured inner insulating layer within the semiconductor core strip, which reduces the impact of air, water, oil, and impurities on the various layers of the semiconductor core strip. This, in turn, decreases the aging rate and startup current of the semiconductor core strip, enhancing the lifespan of the self-limiting temperature electric heat tracing cable.
