Waterproof mechanism
Sodium bentonite features high swelling capacity (bentonite particles can expand to 10-30 times their original volume when absorbing water). When the bentonite waterproof mat comes into contact with water, the sodium bentonite within it absorbs water and swells. Under the action of certain compressive forces (such as the building's base, protective layer, and internal fiber tension of the waterproof mat), the molecules interlock and rearrange, reducing the internal voids and forming a dense gel structure. Water molecules cannot pass through, thereby providing waterproofing, with a permeability coefficient as low as 10.-9cm/s。

Application Range
Geosynthetic Clay Liners (GCLs) are used for underground waterproofing and seepage prevention in municipal, highway, railway, water conservancy, environmental protection, and civil and industrial construction projects. Construction Method
On a flat and solid subgrade, lay the bentonite waterproof geomembrane (GCL) according to the waterproof design specifications. During installation, the non-woven fabric should face the upstream side, and the joints should be sealed with bentonite sealing powder (or paste). Ensure the construction of the protective layer is completed before the waterproofing mat gets wet.
