1. Current Status of China's ISO/IEC 17025 Laboratory Accreditation:
Our country currently has 17025Laboratory AccreditationOur scale and development speed are among the leaders. Statistics show that approximately 4,000 domestic companies have passed national laboratory recognition. With the continuous growth of world trade, an increasing number of Chinese enterprises are joining the recognition field. The increase in recognition numbers and the expansion of the recognition field not only enhance the level of our laboratory recognition services but also boost our laboratory's technical and management capabilities. This, in turn, strengthens the quality and food safety levels, promoting the development of international trade. Currently, laboratory recognition has become a significant way for various social laboratories to demonstrate their capabilities.
2.17025Laboratory AccreditationTerms
CNAS Laboratory Accreditation is completely voluntary. The size of the laboratory or the number of testing items is not restricted, and all can apply. Under the consultation and guidance of a consulting agency, establish a quality management system in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025 and relevant recognition rules, and ensure the system operates normally for over 6 months as required by the recognition criteria, all applications are eligible for final review and will be granted a CNAS Laboratory Accreditation Certificate.
3.CNASLaboratory AccreditationFunction
CNAS laboratory accredited, benefiting the company in enhancing laboratory management and technical capabilities, boosting employee enthusiasm, and reducing testing risks. The laboratory's test reports can be stamped with the "CNAS" seal and international recognition marks, indicating that this internationally recognized test report is currently accepted by 50 countries and regions, 65 institutions. This eliminates the need for duplicate testing, enhances public awareness and trust in recognized laboratories, ultimately achieving mutual recognition of testing data on a bilateral and multilateral basis.
4.Laboratory AccreditationInstitution (CNAS)
In accordance with the provisions of the "Certification and Accreditation Regulations," the national recognized institutions established and authorized by the National Certification and Accreditation Supervision and Administration Commission, namely the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (abbreviated as CNAS in English).nalAccreditation Service for Conformity Assessment, an organization responsible for the unified implementation of recognition for certification bodies, laboratories, and inspection agencies, among other related institutions.

5.17025Laboratory AccreditationPrinciples
The "Criteria for the Recognition of the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories" applies to the establishment of a quality management and technical system in laboratories and the control of their operations. It can also be used when confirming or acknowledging the laboratory's capabilities by customers, regulatory authorities, and recognition bodies.
The recognition standards are divided into two main parts: management requirements and technical requirements. The 15 management requirements are composed of two processes: management responsibilities and system analysis; the 10 technical requirements are also divided into two processes: resource assurance and the realization of detection/calibration; the common goal of the technical and management requirements is to achieve continuous improvement of the quality system.
6.17025Lab AccreditationLooking ahead
In the 1940s, Australia established NATA—the world's first national laboratory accreditation system.
The United Kingdom established its laboratory accreditation body in the early 1960s.
The U.S., Switzerland, New Zealand, France, India, and Denmark all established laboratory accreditation bodies in the 1970s.
80年代以后实验室认可发展到诸多国家如香港、加拿大、新加坡、马来西亚;
China and several developing countries also joined the laboratory accreditation ranks in the 1990s.
More than fifty countries have adopted this laboratory accreditation system to date.
With society's increasing emphasis on product quality in China, obtaining certification has become mandatory for certain industries. Laboratory national accreditation has become a standard for fields such as export food inspection, biological safety inspection, and medical testing. Some large enterprises have already started to require their suppliers to have their quality control departments accredited.
