Product Overview
Rapid Solution for Gas Monitoring
The StoxPro by Germany's EC Sense is an intelligent gas sensor detector, which simultaneously outputs 4-20mA two-wire and RS485 Modbus-RTU signals. Communication can be selected between 4-20mA or RS485 signals based on requirements.
Utilizing high-reliability solid polymer electrochemical gas detection technology and intelligent algorithm design, a combined integrated design of gas and temperature/humidity is implemented to meet the industrial gas safety monitoring requirements.
This sensor probe is suitable for gas detection in both indoor and outdoor environments, simultaneously monitoring temperature and humidity inside the Stox shell, providing users with real-time dynamic data of the measured environment.
Due to the close correlation between the chemical properties and movement state of gases and temperature and humidity, the performance of the sensor is also closely related to the temperature and humidity conditions. This design provides users with professional data support for the analysis and interpretation of measurement results.
Only RS485 output with temperature and humidity signal.
Dual assessment of the performance and lifespan of intelligent gas sensors, regularly outputting the lifespan and performance indicators of the sensors regardless of the presence or absence of the measured gas.
And timely outputs warning signals; this feature serves as the data basis for fundamental judgment and analysis in intelligent product design, endowing the product with safety and reliability.
Users can obtain information prompts on whether the sensor is operating normally, failing, requiring maintenance, or replacement by accessing the output signal or RS485 commands.
Each StoxPro gas sensor detector undergoes professional gas calibration, ready for direct use by the user. Calibration information is stored in the flash chip, and for users requiring a second calibration.
Calibration can be achieved through EC Sense's calibration software via RS485 output, or by directly calibrating the 4-20mA signal.
StoxPro's front cover features three different structural shapes: diffused, flow, and threaded. The diffused design is suitable for detecting gases in open spaces.
Gases come into contact with the sensor through natural diffusion and convection. Flow-through is suitable when the gas to be detected is actively drawn to the sensor by a gas sampling pump or when the pressure in the environment of the gas to be detected is positive pressure (or with flow).
Gas flows to the sensor. Threaded types are suitable for detecting gas concentrations in enclosed spaces and are installed using threaded or flanged sealing methods.
The StoxPro series gas sensor detectors utilize standard 4-20mA or RS485 Modbus-RTU industrial signal protocols, making it easier to quickly set up your own monitoring instruments and systems, or connect to display instruments, DCS, PLCs, and other systems.
Testing Principle
This intelligent sensor detector is a durable product that converts the original weak current signal of the sensor into a standard 4-20mA or RS485 Modbus-RTU output through digital circuitry.
Solid-state polymer electrochemical sensing technology represents a revolutionary innovation in the field of electrochemical detection. This technology, based on the principle of electrochemical catalytic reactions, detects the electrochemical reaction output signals of different gases.
Accurately measure gas concentration via a semaphore.
The sensor consists of three catalytic electrodes, a solid electrolyte, and gas diffusion holes. Gases reach the working electrodes of the sensor through the diffusion holes.
Electrochemical oxidation-reduction reactions occur on the porous microsurface of the electrode.
Solid-state electrolytes conduct electron transfer, outputting a current signal. The magnitude of the current signal can represent the gas concentration.

Key Technical Specifications

Note: The temperature and humidity sensor is located within the StoxPro housing, primarily used for internal environment measurement within the housing. For external environment measurement, please calibrate the measured values.
The environment gas cannot be exchanged with the gas inside the housing, therefore.
Humidity is only used for the measurement inside the housing.
