The Worm Gear Expansion Clamp (Piston Drive) is a high-precision fixture specifically designed for worm gear processing. The following is a detailed analysis of this clamp:
I. Structural Composition
The gear expansion fixture typically consists of the fixture body, tie rod, expansion sleeve, sealing assembly, and drive mechanism. The fixture body is the fundamental component of the fixture, used for installing and securing the workpiece; the tie rod is the key part for driving the expansion sleeve to expand; the expansion sleeve is the part that directly contacts the workpiece being machined, clamping it through expansion; the sealing assembly ensures a good seal of the hydraulic cavity within the fixture; and the drive mechanism is responsible for providing the power for the tie rod movement.
II. Working Principle
During the gear hobbing process, the working principle of the gear cutting fluid胀clamp is as follows:
Firstly, mount the workpiece onto the fixture body and ensure it is tightly fitted with the locating datum face of the fixture.
Then, activate the drive mechanism to move the rod forward. The movement of the rod will push the expanding sleeve to expand within the fixture body, thereby clamping the workpiece.
The expansion of the expanding sleeve is achieved through hydraulic pressure. As the pull rod moves forward, it compresses the hydraulic oil inside the clamp, causing the oil to generate pressure and push the expanding sleeve to expand.
Once the workpiece is clamped, the gear shaper can begin processing. During the machining process, the fixture maintains a stable grip on the workpiece, ensuring precision and stability.
After processing, turn off the driving mechanism. The rod will move backward, causing the sleeve to shrink, allowing the workpiece to be easily removed.
