Partial discharge is a pulsed discharge that occurs when high-voltage switchgear and its internal high-voltage equipment (such as PT, CT, busbars, cable joints, etc.) experience local discharges (PD) due to insulation faults. The process of local discharge is often accompanied by physical and chemical phenomena such as pulse currents, electromagnetic waves, ultrasonic waves, light, ozone, and heat, as well as corresponding processes. These phenomena can lead to chemical reactions, decomposition, and the production of corrosive substances, which can damage the insulation layer or cause temperature rise and insulation aging due to the local discharge, ultimately leading to insulation breakdown.
Solution 1 for Online Partial Discharge Monitoring includes the PD_TA wireless intelligent partial discharge sensor, the PD_R partial discharge data receiver, and the PD_SR online partial discharge monitoring system. This package of three products enables discharge monitoring, data collection, and data analysis for switchgear. The PD_TA wireless intelligent partial discharge sensor utilizes ground electrical waves and ultrasonic partial discharge sensors to detect local discharge signals during the operation of electrical equipment, thereby determining the presence of insulation defects within high-voltage electrical equipment and providing early warnings.
