Foreword:

In municipal, chemical, papermaking, and various other water treatment processes, water body mixing and blending is one of the key process steps. Traditional mixing equipment is categorized into two common types: vertical propeller and horizontal (submersible) designs. Due to the installation method and blade shape determining the mixing pattern, both energy consumption and mixing effectiveness are suboptimal. This not only unnecessarily increases the operation costs of wastewater treatment plants but also directly impacts the process treatment outcomes. Addressing these issues, after years of testing and leveraging the design experience of peers, a new curved mixing machine has been successfully developed. Having been applied in multiple wastewater treatment plants for many years, it has achieved favorable results, filled the domestic gap in such products, and has become a substitute for imported goods.

    The QDJ Curved Blender is one of our advanced, efficient, and highly recommended mixers. It is widely used in industries such as environmental protection, chemical, energy, and light industry, where liquid mixing with solid-liquid or gas is required. It is particularly suitable for sedimentation basins, regulating tanks, anaerobic tanks, nitrification and denitrification tanks in wastewater treatment processes.

Working Principle:

QDJ Series Curved Blade BlenderCurvedThe surface of the impeller body is a hyperbolic spiral formed by rotating the hyperbola along the axis of the impeller body, creating a hyperbolic structure. Its unique impeller design combines fluid characteristics with mechanical motion. The equation of the hyperbola is:The xy=b curve forms a surface solid as it rotates around the y-axis; to accommodate water flow, the design draws water in from the center of the impeller, which reduces water turbulence and ensures uniform pressure on the impeller surface, thereby maintaining the balance of the entire unit during motion. There are eight guide vanes evenly distributed on the involute double arcs, utilizing the potential energy gained from the liquid's self-weight pressure to supplement the incoming water, which, combined with the centrifugal force generated by the impeller's rotation, forms kinetic energy. Under the influence of gravity acceleration, the liquid moves tangentially along the impeller circumference through the double-surface structure, reflecting off the pool wall to create a circulating water flow from top to bottom. Structure Overview:

QDJ Series Curved Surface AgitatorThe complete unit consists of a drive unit, a double-curved impeller body, and installation accessories. To meet the usage requirements under different operating conditions, the installation is divided into dry-type(Also known as vertical shaft type) and submersible types. The dry installation fixes the drive unit to the work bridge, transferring kinetic energy to the impeller components in the medium through a drive shaft. It is used in liquids with high solid content, high water temperature, and abrasive properties. Due to the impeller's automatic alignment function, the operation is relatively smooth, with the reducer noise less than 60 decibels. Submersible installation can eliminate the bridge structure, using submersible power, positioning by the equipment's own weight, offering flexible and convenient installation. Suitable for deep water bodies with stable water quality, free of abrasiveness, and water temperature not exceeding 40°C, with a pH value between 6~9. Its features include no noise and no visual obstructions.

Work Characteristics:

The QDJ series of curved surface mixers is an efficient mixing equipment suitable for blending various low-viscosity liquids, solid-liquid, and gas-liquid mixtures; it is not only used in circular and square tanks but also commonly employed in rectangular tanks where it can be arranged in modular sections.

Among the various wastewater treatment processes in our country, the paddle-type agitator mainly overcomes the issue of dead corners that commonly arise with traditional blade (propeller) agitators and the poor water-aeration mixing effect in aeration processes, highlighting its advantage in achieving uniform mixing. Key features are as follows:

(1) Suitable for various liquid-solid, liquid-gas mixtures, it can replace existing mixing equipment, achieving three-dimensional spiral mixing for more even blending and improved efficiency.

(2) Larger specific surface area impeller, with lower power rating, larger recirculating water flow, and lower energy consumption, achieving energy savings of 30%-50% compared to traditional mixing methods.

(3) The entire machine is compact in structure, reliable in operation, and easy to install and maintain.

(4) The impeller is made of reinforced fiber or steel material, capable of accommodating various operational conditions and boasting a long service life.

Selection and Application:

The selection of QDJ series curved blade mixers is identical; the only difference is the installation method. Like the selection for other types of mixers, the choice of curved blade mixers depends on parameters such as the pool type, volume, liquid depth, medium concentration, temperature, and pH level.

Selection of curved agitator primarily depends on the effective service area of each unit, dividing rectangular pools into several equal work units based on the principle that the ratio of pool length to width does not exceed twice, thereby determining the number of agitators required.

For water depths exceeding5 meters or above the specified concentration, consider increasing the power or the working speed of the stirrer during selection to ensure effective mixing in large-volume and high-concentration media.

Under normal operating conditions, it is recommended to prioritize dry installation. For noise or visual requirements, submersible installation is suggested. Our company can assist customers in selecting the appropriate type for special environments.

Installation:

The installation of the curved agitator is divided into dry installation and wet installation, both of which are very simple.

The wet-mounted mixer can be directly lifted into position using a crane or lifting frame, relying on the mixer's own weight for positioning, and securing the cables. See the wet-mounted installation diagram.

The dry-mounted mixer first secures the reducer frame onto the work bridge, then simply install the drive shaft, impeller components, and securely fasten the cables, as shown in the dry-mounted installation diagram.

Prior to the trial run, a qualified professional will inspect the entire system to ensure compliance with relevant specifications. Properly connect the motor cable to the power source.

During the first trial run, it is essential to check the correct rotation direction of the impeller. The method is: connect the submersible aeration mixer to the power supply, looking from the impeller towards the motor, the impeller should rotate clockwise. If the rotation direction is incorrect, exchange the two phases of the power cable. If there are multiple mixers, check the rotation direction of each mixer separately.

Note: Do not stand close to the rotating impeller when checking the rotation direction to ensure the rotating impeller does not injure personnel. After the trial operation is normal, disconnect the power. Begin the hoisting of the mixer:

aThe mixer is installed at the center of the ground by its own weight.

bIn large-scale aeration tanks, the air-floatation lifting method can be used for installation.

cLifting can be done using a truck-mounted crane or the manual winch located at the poolside.

Submersible cables and steel wire ropes should be tightened and securely fastened.

Cautionary Notes:

1. Prior to installation, a qualified electrician must inspect the motor and electrical equipment, and confirm the direction. The working distance from the impeller to the bottom of the pool should be ≤300mm, and the pool bottom must be flat, solid, and free of construction debris.

2 If the equipment is not operated for a prolonged period, prevent sediment buildup to avoid impeller clogging and motor damage upon restart.

Consider the impeller's inlet and outlet dimensions in the closed tank.

For any installation method, ensure that the underwater cable is securely fastened to prevent wear.

Read the product installation and usage manual carefully before use.

Ensure cables are not drawn into the impeller while the mixer is operating!

Equipment Maintenance and Care:

For ease of transportation, the mixer is not filled with oil in the reduction box before shipment. It should be immediately lubricated with ordinary grease after installation. First operationAfter 100 hours, replace with new oil; thereafter, change every 3-6 months. Use 90-grade industrial gear oil or 20-grade machinery oil. The amount of oil to add is approximately 1.5 liters.

The oil change should be performed as follows:

Position the mixer, unscrew the top and bottom plugs, release the lubricant, then clean the oil chamber with cleaning oil, refill with new oil, and replace the newO-ring, tighten the bolt plug.

If water (appearing as a milky emulsion) is found in the oil being replaced, clean the oil chamber according to regulations, then refill with new oil and replace it.O-rings, tighten the bolt plug. A re-inspection must be conducted after three weeks; if the oil has turned into a milky emulsion again, check the mechanical seals and replace them if necessary (please contact our company or the maintenance department).
