The LG vertical screw pump operates by the intermeshing of the screw and sleeve, creating volume changes between the suction and discharge chambers to transport liquids. It is an internally meshed, sealed type.Single Screw PumpThe main working components consist of a sleeve (stator) with a double-headed helical cavity and a single-headed helical screw (rotor) that engages with it within the stator cavity.
As the input shaft drives the rotor to rotate around the stator center through a universal joint, the stator-rotor assembly continuously engages to form sealed cavities. These sealed cavities maintain a constant volume and move axially at a uniform speed, transporting the medium from the intake end through the stator-rotor assembly to the discharge end. The medium within the intake sealed cavity flows through the stator without being agitated or disrupted. The inner surface of the sleeve has a double thread, with any cross-section being an elongated circle, with semicircles at both ends having a radius R (equal to the screw shaft radius), and a straight line segment in the middle with a length of 4e. Any cross-section of the sleeve is an identical elongated circle, merely offset at an angle from each other. After the screw is inserted into the sleeve, individual sealed compartments are formed between the screw surface and the inner threaded surface of the sleeve, and any cross-section is also divided into two crescent-shaped working chambers.
As the screw rotates, the volume of a chamber adjacent to the suction chamber gradually increases, creating a vacuum that draws the liquid into the chamber. As the screw continues to turn, the working chamber's volume increases until the chamber seals and pushes the liquid axially towards the discharge chamber. Simultaneously, the two chambers alternately cycle to suction and discharge liquids, continuously pushing the liquid from the suction chamber towards the discharge chamber axially.
