Where is the heat shrink end cap mainly used?
1. Steel pipes are constantly corroding under natural conditions such as soil and atmosphere, as well as under artificial conditions like acids, alkalis, and other mediums. This is a futile consumption that occurs spontaneously. The fundamental reason is that steel pipe is in a thermodynamic unstable state. This is where thermal shrinkage sleeves come into play.
2. Heat shrinkable sleeves are now used in the long-distance transportation of oil in the petroleum industry, corrosion prevention at steel pipe welds, and are also extensively applied in the corrosion prevention of long-distance oil pipelines, steel pipe welds, and city gas pipeline network joints.
Reasons for the failure of the anti-corrosion coating of the heat shrinkable coupler seal
1. Poor preliminary treatment of the pipeline resulted in insufficiently cleaned oil stains and rust, or the presence of moisture, which affected the bonding strength of the heat-shrink joint sleeves and led to loose fitting, impacting the later corrosion resistance.
2. This tape requires unwinding for use. If the temperature is insufficient or the manual baking is uneven, it can lead to localized non-melting, forming air bubbles in the unmelting areas. Additionally, if the undercoat has cured during the winding process, the surface will lack adhesive properties and may peel off.
3. The tape storage environment does not meet the requirements, or it has been damaged during transportation due to collisions or compressed during stacking, affecting the performance of the tape.
4. Construction under adverse weather conditions like rain or snow without proper insulation or waterproofing measures has led to the failure of the adhesive tape's protective coating.
The failure of the anti-corrosion layer in heat shrinkable splicing sleeves is caused by various reasons. The failure of the anti-corrosion layer severely reduces the corrosion resistance of the tape, so we must pay extra attention when using this tape.
