The working principle of Duwan LS vertical centrifugal pump
The working principle of a centrifugal pump is that it can send water out due to the force of centrifugal force. Before the pump operates, the pump body and the inlet pipe must be filled with water to form a vacuum state. As the impeller rotates rapidly, the blades cause the water to rotate quickly. The rotating water is ejected from the impeller due to centrifugal force. After the water inside the pump is thrown out, a vacuum area is formed at the center of the impeller. The water is then pushed into the inlet pipe by atmospheric pressure (or water pressure) through the pipeline. This continuous cycle allows for continuous water extraction. It is worth noting that before starting the centrifugal pump, it is essential to fill the pump casing with water to prevent overheating, vibration, reduced water output, and damage to the pump (referred to as "cavitation"), which can lead to equipment accidents!
There are many types of centrifugal pumps, categorized in the following ways: 1. By impeller suction method: Single-suction centrifugal pump, double-suction centrifugal pump. 2. By number of impellers: Single-stage centrifugal pump, multi-stage centrifugal pump. 3. By impeller structure: Open impeller centrifugal pump, semi-open impeller centrifugal pump, closed impeller centrifugal pump. 4. By working pressure: Low-pressure centrifugal pump, medium-pressure centrifugal pump, high-pressure centrifugal pump, horizontal centrifugal pump.

Key performance curves of the LS recirculating supercharger.
The performance parameters of a pump, such as flow rate Q, head H, shaft power N, and speed n, are interrelated. The relationship between their values is depicted by curves, which are known as the pump's performance curves. The interchanging relationships and constraints among the performance parameters of pipeline centrifugal pumps: predicated on the pump's rated speed. Pipeline centrifugalPump performance curves mainly consist of three types: flow-head curve, flow-power curve, and flow-efficiency curve.
Flow Head Characteristic Curve
This is the basic performance curve for centrifugal pumps. Centrifugal pumps with a specific speed less than 80 have an ascending and descending characteristic (i.e., they are convex in the middle and concave on both sides), known as hump-shaped performance curves. Centrifugal pumps with a specific speed between 80 and 150 exhibit a flat performance curve. Pumps with a specific speed above 150 have a steeply descending performance curve. Generally speaking, when the flow rate is low, the head is high, and as the flow rate increases, the head gradually decreases.
B. Flow-Power Curve
The shaft power increases with flow rate. When the flow rate Q equals 0, the corresponding shaft power is not zero but a certain value (about 60% of normal operation). This power is mainly consumed in mechanical losses. At this point, the pump is full of water. If it runs for a long time, it will cause the pump temperature to rise continuously, the pump casing and bearings to heat up, and in severe cases, it may deform the pump body thermally, which we call "stagnant head." At this time, the head reaches its maximum value. As the outlet valve gradually opens, the flow rate will gradually increase, and the shaft power will also slowly increase.
C. Traffic-Efficiency Curve
The curve resembles the shape of a mountain peak. When the flow is zero, the efficiency is also zero. As the flow increases, efficiency also gradually rises, but it starts to decline after reaching a certain level. Efficiency has a maximum value, and around this point, efficiency is relatively high. This area is termed the high-efficiency zone.
